Acclaimed for her "remarkably controlled voice that goes from meltingly soft to the height of emotion and projection without strain" by San Francisco Classical Voice, Bay Area soprano Melody Moore joins Music Director Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg for a look at the many moods of Schubert, including a variety of lieder arranged for soprano and strings, and a rarely-performed arrangement of the Cello Quintet D. 956.

Ms. Moore, a 2007 Adler Fellow and former Merola Opera Program participant, is one of America’s exciting new talents. A sought after Mimi in La Boheme, Ms. Moore has performed the role with the San Francisco Opera, English National Opera in a new production by Jonathan Miller, and with Opera Cleveland. She has appeared with Los Angeles Opera as the Countess Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro, and in their productions of Der Zwerg and Der Zerbrochene Krug. Elsewhere, she has appeared with the New Orleans Opera as Manon Lescaut, Orlando Opera in the title role in Suor Angelica, and the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra as Donna Anna.

During the 2010-2011 season, she will appear with the English National Opera as Marguerite in Des McAnuff’s new production of Faust, the Madison Opera as the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro, and debut with the Bavarian Radio Symphony in concert performances and recording of excerpts of Gordon Getty’s opera, Plump Jack, to be conducted by Ulf Shirmer.
